How to draw a Good Enough handshake in six easy steps

Partnerships. Agreements. When these are discussed, odds are good that a handshake is coming into the picture! But how do you actually draw one? (Especially in a hurry… which is how I typically get to draw them?) I’m glad you asked!

Here’s how to draw a Good Enough handshake:

Thanks go to Julie Gieseke for requesting this one!

Three Tips

  • When drawing a handshake, I like to start with a sleeve to help anchor my drawing and give me some scale to work with.
  • The hand with the thumb showing is the hand that also has the fingers wrapping around.
  • Those fingers wrapping around the other person’s hand go in a right angle to the thumb, not parallel to it.  (I swear, this is the number one thing I get mixed up on when drawing a handshake!)

… and that’s it!  Put ‘er there!

(Then draw it up, Tweet it out to @jeannelking #goodenough, and give yourself another hand!)

Want to have fun drawing AND inspire others to pick up the pen at the same time?  Got something you wish you could draw, but you’re not sure how to approach it? Tweet your drawing or idea to @jeannelking and tag it with #goodenough: it could be featured in an upcoming “how to draw good enough” blog post!

Looking forward to seeing what you draw forth!
