“Uncharted Waters” Sketchbook Project

In honor of “Inspire Your Heart With Art” Day… and because January 31st is also the cutoff date for submitting entries for the Art House Co-Op’s 2012 Sketchbook Project… I’m sharing with you something from my heart: my sketchbook entry for their 2012 collection.

I signed up for this project back in November of 2011.  The topic I was given was “Uncharted Waters.”  Of course, I didn’t actually tackle the project until shortly after the New Year, when sufficient time had passed to motivate me to get the sketchbook done!  Once I got to that point, though, the book was ready to write itself: the first half was done in one hour-long sitting, and the second half was done in one hour-long sitting a few days later.

I suppose you could say it’s a stream-of-consciousness look into my mind in the form of a children’s self-help book.  At least, that’s how one of my friends described it!  :^)

If you read my sketchbook, leave me a comment… I’d love to hear what you think!

Better still, if you’ll be near one of the tour stops… go and check the book out in person!  (I’m sure it would welcome a visit from a friendly face!) :^D  My book – along with who knows how many others – will be going on tour over the course of the coming year before settling at its new home: the Brooklyn Art Library.
