Hawks and doves. Ideas hatching and taking flight. A little birdie told me. Or, as Mark Wahlberg repeatedly says in The Other Guys, “I’m a peacock, Captain… you gotta let me fly!” One way or another, bird metaphors pop up in the business world to represent various concepts. And since “Draw A Picture Of A Bird” Day is next week, it seemed like an opportune time to do a tutorial on how to draw your own Good Enough bird!
Really, the “essence” of a bird is the beak and wing, so you can use pretty much any shape for the head and body and still get the idea across:
And, of course, the easiest one to draw is the bird in flight. That one’s not much more than a stretched out “m!”
Of course, that flattened-out “m” needs some extra context in terms of a landscape to be understood as a bird in flight, but still!
