Visual Thinking in Action – Felena Hanson, Hera Hub

Visual thinking is powerful stuff.  And few things are cooler than when I see someone make their vision their own.

I find this video by Felena Hanson describing her vision for Hera Hub incredibly cool… for three reasons:

Cool Thing Number One:  It’s a pretty amazing vision!  With Hera Hub, Felena has created more than a coworking space for women entrepreneurs and professionals: she has created a community of practice in a spa-like workspace where women business owners can thrive. If you care about fostering women entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses, you’ll want to hear what she has to say.

Cool Thing Number Two:  Check out the map Felena shares with the viewer during her video.  Felena and I worked together a few months ago to capture her vision for Hera Hub’s evolution and growth.  It was a pretty sweet vision, and had been hanging at the Hera Hub for a while.  Here’s the thing that’s so cool, though: the map in the video isn’t the map we created.  It’s a map she created after living with her vision for a while!  Felena took the paper vision from our visual coaching session and made it entirely her own.

What prompted her to create this new map?

Cool Thing Number Three:  Since creating that clear, specific, and visual roadmap for Hera Hub’s future state… amazing things have been clicking into place and Felena’s been able to accelerate her Hera Hub timeline.  By FOUR YEARS!  This was a dramatic change in plan… and it necessitated a whole new vision map to reflect that shift and refocus Felena’s efforts to this new timeline.

Is that kind of progress cool or what?!

As a woman business owner and member of the Hera Hub, I could not be more proud of, inspired by, or grateful to Felena for what she’s doing for San Diego’s business community.  I encourage you to stop by the Hera Hub and see the space – and her vision – for yourself!
