How To Draw A Chinese Take-Out Box In Three Easy Steps

Meetings and retreats can generate all sorts of good content… but how do you package it up for folks to take with them?  Well, on the one hand, there’s your graphic recording of the meeting (of course!)  But what if you’re looking for a tasty solution to draw for yourself?  Coniqua Abdul-Malik, this one’s for you!

Want to summarize take-aways from a session?  Need to wrap those insights “to-go?”  Why not draw your own container?  Here’s how to draw a “Good Enough” Chinese Take Out Box… two different ways, even!

How To Draw Good Enough Chinese Take Out Box - Jeannel King

The closed container is perfect for sending with folks at the end of the day… and the open one is perfect for digging in later that evening!

Hmm.  Why do I have this sudden craving for potstickers??  ;^)

(By the way, when I was drawing the open container, I noticed that half the time I drew the “step one” image with the center flap up, and the other half of the time I drew it as a widened, angular “U” then added the center flap in at step two.  Play with both, and see which way you prefer!)

Want to have fun drawing AND inspire others to pick up the pen at the same time?  Got something you wish you could draw, but you’re not sure how to approach it? Tweet your drawing or idea to @jeannelking and tag it with #goodenough: it could be featured in an upcoming “how to draw good enough” blog post!

Looking forward to seeing what you draw forth!
