After all, drawing a regular light bulb is pretty straightforward – put a circle on top of a small box and you’re practically there! Those energy saving light bulbs, on the other hand, are a whole other story to draw quickly with their tubes and wiggles. So, Julie G., this one’s for you!

When drawing one of these energy saving light bulbs, it’s important to remember that the bulb itself is fairly compact – wide and a bit on the shorter side. Here’s a tip: when drawing one of these bulbs, use your middle three fingers as a guide. First, pinch your thumb and pinky together like you’re representing the number “three.” Next, let your hand relax and look at the middle three fingers. They curl and space a lot like the tubes in your light bulb! And since the bulb is made out of one continuous tube, you want to make sure your drawing looks connected as well.
