UPDATE 11/24/14: Draw Forth officially available on Amazon.com!
Order your copy today, and let me know what you think! I’d love to hear!
One of the great things about writing a book is that everyone you see asks you about it. Today at lunch, I walked in with a blank journal in my hand and the colleague I was meeting asked,
“Hey, Jeannel! Is that your book? Is it out yet? I can’t wait to see it!”
To which, I had to reply:
“Neither can I!”
Almost Here
Part of me truly does take comfort in the knowledge that Draw Forth really is almost ready for prime time. The designers are SO CLOSE to being done, it is tantalizing. Even the Library of Congress got my book’s registration number to me in record time!
Of course, there’s this HUGE other part of me that simply wants everything to fall into place already so I can share my book with you!
So while we wait, how about I share with you a bit of a sneak peek of what’s to come? (Sounds like it’s time for a happy kitty happy dance! Woot!)
Sneak Peek
After much feedback and design iterations, here’s the cover:
Thanks, by the way, to EVERYONE who shared their thoughts and feedback on the cover! I cannot tell you how helpful your input was!
The interior is printed in black and white to encourage you to add your own color and drawings! (No shiny glossy pages, here! Feel free to draw all over this book!) With the exception of two photos used as an example, all the images are hand-drawn Good Enough by Yours Truly. To see what I mean, here’s a two-page layout from chapter two:
Speaking of chapters, here are the chapters titles to help draw forth the visual conversationalist in you:
- Chapter 1: The Case for Visual Conversation
- Chapter 2: Overcoming Any Fear of Public (Visual) Speaking
- Chapter 3: Your Basic Toolkit
- Chapter 4: Visual Language 101
- Chapter 5: Using Visual Language With Others
- Chapter 6: Facing the Blank Page
- Chapter 7: How to Keep the Visual Conversation Flowing
- Chapter 8: How to BE in Visual Conversation
- Chapter 9: Living, Breathing Visual Conversations
- Chapter 10: Closing Conversation
Lastly, here’s the back cover:
It’s still being tweaked, but check out what advance readers like Dan Roam and Ken Blanchard had to say about my book! (I’m so honored!)
Well, there it is. A year from now, I’ll look back on this entire waiting process and laugh. (At least that’s what I tell myself!) Right now, however, all I want to do is share this baby with you! Soon, my friends. . . soon!
(And in the meantime, feel free to wave your paws in the air like you just don’t care and call out a “Woot!” of your own!)
I cannot wait to see what you draw forth,
Looking gorgeous!
Thanks, Marliese!
Looks fantastic!
Tanks, PattieBelle! :^)
